Turn your Hoodie into a Laptop Purse!!

I love this idea! I saw a girl in one of my classes take her hoodie and turn it into a bag to hold her laptop in like thirty seconds!! And I finally figured out how to do it!!

Here's how:

What you'll need (obviously):

Step 1:
Lay your hoodie out, facing up. Place the laptop at the top of the hoodie, right at the neck line.

Step 2:
Fold bottom half of hoodie over laptop and tuck under.

Step 3:
Pull the hood over the laptop, tucking the laptop inside. This can be hard, depending on the size of your hood. Sometimes it takes a couple minutes if it's small!
pulling over
finished look

Step 4:
Twist the sleeves and tie in a tight double knot.

Step 5:
You're good to go!

Once you get the hang of it, it takes no time at all. It's helpful when you've got full hands!

Blackheads? EW!

Definition: Blackhead - a black-tipped plug clogging a pore of the skin from oils and dirt.

I hate blackheads with a HUGE passion.... I'm sure you do too. I freak when I see some on my nose. Nose strips work great, but they cost about 10$ for 8 strips.
I tried many different things with house items to see if I could figure something out for cheaper....

What works for me is this:

  • Mix olive oil & either salt or sugar together. I never measured it, but you want it to be pretty gritty and a little thick.
  • Soak a wash cloth in water, and put it in the microwave for about 15-30 seconds to get it nice and hot.
  • Hold it over your nose until the wash clothes starts to lose it's heat. This opens up your pours.
  • Take the mixture and rub it on your nose for about 2 minutes. Your nose will probably be red for a little bit afterwards, so make sure you do this when you have plenty of time before going out.
  • Wash it off with warm water.
  • If you still have some black heads after, I know this is gross, but take two q-tips and you can squeeze them out. Don't use your fingers or nails.. You'll spread dirt and you could scratch yourself!
You should notice after some time of doing this, you have little to no black heads! And a plus is the olive oil makes your skin super soft.. So your nose will be clear and smooth!
 Love & Clear Noses,
Brianna xoxo

DIY: Old Book Paper Flower Hook

A while back I saw in this really unique store, a key holder that had a huge paper flower on top. I loved it, but it was 30 bucks.. I looked at it for a while and thought I could do that myself. So this is how I made my own :)

What you'll need:
scissors
hot glue gun
a metal hanger
an old book
pliers
stapler (I didn't have one, so I used a little push pin thing)
cardboard

Optional Things:
Paint (to paint the metal hanger)
Glitter (to add to the flower so it shines)

Instructions:

Step one:
Cut the hanger so you're left with a piece about 12 inches. Bend the metal with your pliers so that you have a little loop for hanging it on a nail, and a big loop at the other end so you can hang things.

Step two:
Cut a circle out of the cardboard.. Bigger than a dollar coin. Hot glue the metal to the cardoard. (I also used tape just to make sure)

Step 3:
Tear pages out of your old book & cut out different sized flowers. I did 8 flowers.

Step 4:
Line all of the flowers up together, and in the center staple it. If you don't have a stapler, like me, puncture a hole with a pen and use a push-pin that you can flatten on the back.

Step 5:
Start bending, layer by layer, each flower and petal.
Step 6:
Hot glue the flower to the cardboard circle & metal. Again, I used tape just to be sure.

Step 7: (optional)
Paint the metal. I used a sponge & a white paint creme. (from ACmoore)

Step 8: (optional)
I used a glue pen and lightly touched the corners of the petals with it.. Then sprinkled gold glitter over top.

Then you're done! All you need is a nail and something to hang!!

I'm using this particular one for my keys. I'll be making two more: one for the bedroom to hang on the back of the door for scarves or light jackets. And another one for the back of the bathroom door for robes or towels!

Have fun with it!! You really appreciate things more when you take the time to make it!

P.S. I think this would look awesome on a dark brown wall.

Face & Hand Treatment

Simple.
Easy.
Cheap.

We all want smooth hands and a smooth face, right? But treatments for this could cost a lot, couldn't they?

Not if you make it on your own!

What you will need:
-1 teaspoon coconut milk
-1 teaspoon unflavored plain yogurt
-A couple drops of honey

Directions:
Mix ingredients together.
Apply a thick layer to your face and let it sit for about 5 minutes.
Use the rest to lather into hands and let sit for about 30 seconds.
Rinse.
Experience some seriously hydrated skin.

Lots of love & remember, YOU CAN.
